🍽️ Crispy Chicken Drumsticks with Tangy Apple Cider Sauce

Ingredients
- 1 chicken (approx. 1,2 kg)
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- 2 tsp curry powder
- 2 onions
- 1 piece ginger (2-3 cm)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 200 ml cider
- 200 ml chicken broth
- 2 apples
- 200 ml whipping cream
Instructions
- 1. Turn on your oven and set it to 200 degrees Celsius. Select the top and bottom heat setting.
- 2. Rinse the chicken pieces under cold running water and then pat them completely dry with a kitchen towel.
- 3. Rub the chicken pieces all over with salt, pepper, and curry powder.
- 4. Peel the onions and the ginger. Dice both ingredients into small cubes.
- 5. Place the onions and ginger into a suitable roasting pan.
- 6. Place the seasoned chicken pieces on top of the vegetables in the roasting pan, skin-side up.
- 7. Drizzle some oil over the chicken and vegetables.
- 8. Put the roasting pan into the preheated oven and roast the chicken for about 15 minutes.
- 9. Pour the cider (apple wine) and a splash of broth into the roasting pan.
- 10. Let the chicken cook in the oven for another 15 minutes.
- 11. While the chicken cooks, peel the apples and cut them in half.
- 12. Remove the core from the apple wedges.
- 13. Cut the apple wedges into bite-sized pieces.
- 14. Take the roasting pan out of the oven briefly and add the apple wedges to the chicken pieces.
- 15. Place the roasting pan back in the oven and bake everything together for another 10 to 15 minutes.
- 16. Take the roasting pan out of the oven.
- 17. Carefully lift the cooked apple wedges and chicken pieces out of the roasting pan.
- 18. Pour the cooking juices from the roasting pan through a fine sieve into a small saucepan.
- 19. Place the chicken pieces and apple wedges back into the empty roasting pan.
- 20. Place the roasting pan with the meat and apples into the turned-off oven to keep them warm.
- 21. Stir the cream into the cooking juices that were poured through the sieve.
- 22. Let the sauce simmer in the saucepan until it thickens.
- 23. Finally, season the sauce to taste with salt and pepper.
- 24. Serve the chicken pieces and apples on plates and pour the warm sauce over them.
