  1. 1. Turn on your oven and set it to 200 degrees Celsius. Select the top and bottom heat setting.
  2. 2. Rinse the chicken pieces under cold running water and then pat them completely dry with a kitchen towel.
  3. 3. Rub the chicken pieces all over with salt, pepper, and curry powder.
  4. 4. Peel the onions and the ginger. Dice both ingredients into small cubes.
  5. 5. Place the onions and ginger into a suitable roasting pan.
  6. 6. Place the seasoned chicken pieces on top of the vegetables in the roasting pan, skin-side up.
  7. 7. Drizzle some oil over the chicken and vegetables.
  8. 8. Put the roasting pan into the preheated oven and roast the chicken for about 15 minutes.
  9. 9. Pour the cider (apple wine) and a splash of broth into the roasting pan.
  10. 10. Let the chicken cook in the oven for another 15 minutes.
  11. 11. While the chicken cooks, peel the apples and cut them in half.
  12. 12. Remove the core from the apple wedges.
  13. 13. Cut the apple wedges into bite-sized pieces.
  14. 14. Take the roasting pan out of the oven briefly and add the apple wedges to the chicken pieces.
  15. 15. Place the roasting pan back in the oven and bake everything together for another 10 to 15 minutes.
  16. 16. Take the roasting pan out of the oven.
  17. 17. Carefully lift the cooked apple wedges and chicken pieces out of the roasting pan.
  18. 18. Pour the cooking juices from the roasting pan through a fine sieve into a small saucepan.
  19. 19. Place the chicken pieces and apple wedges back into the empty roasting pan.
  20. 20. Place the roasting pan with the meat and apples into the turned-off oven to keep them warm.
  21. 21. Stir the cream into the cooking juices that were poured through the sieve.
  22. 22. Let the sauce simmer in the saucepan until it thickens.
  23. 23. Finally, season the sauce to taste with salt and pepper.
  24. 24. Serve the chicken pieces and apples on plates and pour the warm sauce over them.
