  1. 1. Rinse the chicken drumsticks under running water.
  2. 2. Pat the meat completely dry with a kitchen towel.
  3. 3. Peel the potatoes.
  4. 4. Cut the potatoes into small cubes.
  5. 5. Toss the potato cubes with some olive oil and salt.
  6. 6. Place the potatoes in a baking dish.
  7. 7. Peel the garlic cloves.
  8. 8. Slice the garlic into thin rounds.
  9. 9. Add the garlic slices and curry leaves to the dish.
  10. 10. Pour the poultry stock over the potatoes.
  11. 11. Brush the chicken drumsticks with olive oil.
  12. 12. Place the chicken drumsticks on top of the potatoes.
  13. 13. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  14. 14. Braise the chicken drumsticks in the oven for about 30 minutes.
  15. 15. Turn the meat and potatoes occasionally during cooking.
  16. 16. Place pepper, coriander, and cardamom in a mortar.
  17. 17. Coarsely crush the spices with a pestle.
  18. 18. Mix the ground spices with turmeric and curry powder.
  19. 19. Add chili powder and orange zest.
  20. 20. Stir in about 4 to 5 tablespoons of olive oil into the spice mixture.
  21. 21. Season the marinade with salt to taste.
  22. 22. Brush the chicken drumsticks with the spice mixture.
  23. 23. Finish baking the meat for another 10 to 15 minutes.
  24. 24. Switch on the grill function if desired.
