🍽️ Oriental-style chicken drumsticks with baked potatoes

Ingredients
- 4 chicken drumsticks
- 1 kg potatoes (waxy)
- olive oil
- 150 ml poultry stock
- 0.5 tsp peppercorns
- 0.5 tsp coriander seeds
- 1 tsp cardamom pods
- 1 pinch turmeric (ground)
- 1 pinch curry powder
- 1 pinch chili powder
- 0.5 tsp grated orange peel
- 2 curry leaves
- 4 garlic cloves
- cinnamon (ground)
- salt
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the chicken drumsticks under running water.
- 2. Pat the meat completely dry with a kitchen towel.
- 3. Peel the potatoes.
- 4. Cut the potatoes into small cubes.
- 5. Toss the potato cubes with some olive oil and salt.
- 6. Place the potatoes in a baking dish.
- 7. Peel the garlic cloves.
- 8. Slice the garlic into thin rounds.
- 9. Add the garlic slices and curry leaves to the dish.
- 10. Pour the poultry stock over the potatoes.
- 11. Brush the chicken drumsticks with olive oil.
- 12. Place the chicken drumsticks on top of the potatoes.
- 13. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
- 14. Braise the chicken drumsticks in the oven for about 30 minutes.
- 15. Turn the meat and potatoes occasionally during cooking.
- 16. Place pepper, coriander, and cardamom in a mortar.
- 17. Coarsely crush the spices with a pestle.
- 18. Mix the ground spices with turmeric and curry powder.
- 19. Add chili powder and orange zest.
- 20. Stir in about 4 to 5 tablespoons of olive oil into the spice mixture.
- 21. Season the marinade with salt to taste.
- 22. Brush the chicken drumsticks with the spice mixture.
- 23. Finish baking the meat for another 10 to 15 minutes.
- 24. Switch on the grill function if desired.
