🍽️ Chicken Strips in a Bun

Ingredients
- 400 g chicken breast fillet
- 1 carrot
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp curry powder
- 100 g hummus
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- 1 drop lemon juice
- 4 lettuce leaves (e.g. Lollo bionda)
- 4 baguette rolls
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the chicken meat under cold water.
- 2. Pat the meat dry with a kitchen towel.
- 3. Cut the chicken meat into small cubes.
- 4. Peel the carrot.
- 5. Grate the carrot finely.
- 6. Heat oil in a large frying pan.
- 7. Add the chicken cubes and the grated carrots to the hot pan.
- 8. Fry the mixture while stirring constantly for about 3 minutes.
- 9. Stir the curry powder into the meat and carrot mixture.
- 10. Fry the curry for a short moment to activate the flavors.
- 11. Remove the pan from the heat.
- 12. Stir the hummus into the warm mixture.
- 13. Season the filling with salt to taste.
- 14. Season the filling with freshly ground pepper to taste.
- 15. Add some lemon juice.
- 16. Let the chicken filling cool down completely.
- 17. Rinse the salad under cold water.
- 18. Remove wilted or dirty leaves from the salad.
- 19. Shake the salad dry, for example in a salad spinner.
- 20. Slice the buns lengthwise, but not all the way through.
- 21. Fill the buns with the cooled salad.
- 22. Fill the buns with the chicken mixture.
- 23. Pack the filled buns as you like.
- 24. Take the buns to school.
