Instructions

  1. 1. Turn on the oven and set it to 200 degrees Celsius fan-forced to preheat.
  2. 2. Rinse the chicken breasts briefly under running water and then pat them completely dry with a kitchen towel.
  3. 3. Cut a pocket into the thickest side of each breast, being careful not to cut all the way through to the other side.
  4. 4. Drain the tomatoes well from the can or jar and then chop them finely.
  5. 5. Cut the mozzarella into small, even cubes.
  6. 6. Mix the chopped tomatoes, mozzarella cubes, and basil together in a bowl.
  7. 7. Season the filling with a pinch of salt and freshly ground pepper to taste.
  8. 8. Carefully stuff the tomato and mozzarella mixture into the pockets you cut into the chicken breasts earlier.
  9. 9. Wrap a piece of mozzarella around each stuffed breast so that the filling stays inside.
  10. 10. Secure the cheese wrapping with kitchen twine so it does not unravel during baking.
  11. 11. Place the chicken breasts on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
  12. 12. Put the tray in the preheated oven and bake the breasts for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown.
  13. 13. Remove the chicken breasts from the oven and carefully remove the kitchen twine.
  14. 14. Cut the breasts in half or into strips as you prefer and serve them warm.
