🍽️ Chicken and Pepper Stew

Ingredients
- 1 kg chicken breast fillet
- 2 onions
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp paprika powder (sweet)
- chili flakes
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- 500 ml chicken broth
- 4 tbsp sour cream
- oregano (for garnishing)
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the chicken breast under cold water.
- 2. Pat the meat dry with a kitchen towel.
- 3. Cut the chicken breast into bite-sized cubes.
- 4. Peel the onions and the garlic.
- 5. Slice the onions into thin rings.
- 6. Finely chop the garlic.
- 7. Heat the oil in a large pot.
- 8. Fry the chicken breast in the hot oil on all sides.
- 9. Add the onion rings and the chopped garlic to the meat.
- 10. Sauté the vegetables briefly.
- 11. Season the mixture with paprika powder, chili, salt, and pepper.
- 12. Fry the spices briefly.
- 13. Deglaze the mixture with the meat broth.
- 14. Let the stew simmer on low heat for about 20 minutes.
- 15. Add more broth if necessary.
- 16. Taste the stew and adjust the seasoning before serving.
- 17. Divide the stew among deep plates.
- 18. Add a dollop of sour cream to each plate.
- 19. Sprinkle some chili over the sour cream.
- 20. Garnish the dish with oregano.
- 21. Serve the stew with gnocchi on the side if desired.
