🍽️ Grilled Chicken with Basil-Lemon Marinade

Ingredients
- 1 chicken (kitchen-ready, 1.4 kg)
- 4 sprigs Thai basil
- 1 clove garlic
- 0.5 untreated lemon (juice and zest)
- olive oil
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- 1 tsp sweet paprika powder
Instructions
- 1. Preheat your grill to the desired temperature.
- 2. Rinse the chicken under cold running water.
- 3. Pat the meat completely dry with kitchen paper.
- 4. Cut the chicken open along the backbone using kitchen shears.
- 5. Flatten the back and press the breast side down slightly.
- 6. Stand the chicken legs up.
- 7. Rinse the basil briefly under cold water.
- 8. Shake the basil dry.
- 9. Finely chop the basil leaves.
- 10. Peel the garlic clove.
- 11. Press the garlic into a small bowl.
- 12. Add the lemon juice and lemon zest to the bowl.
- 13. Add six tablespoons of oil.
- 14. Season the mixture with salt, pepper, and paprika powder.
- 15. Mix all marinade ingredients well together.
- 16. Coat the chicken thoroughly with the marinade.
- 17. Place the chicken on the hot grill grate.
- 18. Grill the chicken for about 20 to 25 minutes.
- 19. Turn the chicken occasionally while grilling.
- 20. Brush the meat repeatedly with the remaining marinade.
- 21. Remove the chicken from the grill and place it on a plate.
- 22. Serve the grilled chicken with a tomato and bean salad if desired.
