🍽️ Honey-Orange Chicken with Red Onions

Ingredients
- 2000 g chicken drumsticks (8 chicken drumsticks)
- 2 red onions
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 tbsp honey
- 250 ml orange juice
- 1 tsp salt
- pepper
- cayenne pepper
- 1 organic orange
- 3 sprigs parsley
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the chicken drumsticks under cold water.
- 2. Pat the meat dry with a kitchen towel.
- 3. Peel the red onions.
- 4. Cut the onions into thin wedges.
- 5. Peel the garlic cloves.
- 6. Finely chop the garlic.
- 7. Put the honey and orange juice into a small saucepan.
- 8. Warm the mixture until the honey has completely dissolved.
- 9. Season the marinade with salt.
- 10. Add pepper.
- 11. Sprinkle in some cayenne pepper.
- 12. Rinse the orange under hot water.
- 13. Dry the orange.
- 14. Cut the orange into wedges.
- 15. Brush the chicken drumsticks with the marinade.
- 16. Place the chicken in a large baking dish.
- 17. Add the orange wedges to the dish.
- 18. Add the onion wedges.
- 19. Add the chopped garlic.
- 20. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
- 21. Use fan-assisted heat at 180 degrees if preferred.
- 22. Place the dish in the preheated oven.
- 23. Cook the chicken for 50 to 60 minutes.
- 24. Turn the chicken occasionally during cooking.
- 25. Baste the meat regularly with the pan juices.
- 26. Wash the parsley under cold water.
- 27. Shake the parsley dry.
- 28. Finely chop the parsley leaves.
- 29. Sprinkle the parsley over the finished dish.
