  1. 1. Wash the chicken thoroughly and pat it dry with a kitchen towel.
  2. 2. Cut the chicken into 8 equal pieces.
  3. 3. Peel the shallot and peel the garlic and ginger.
  4. 4. Dice the shallot, garlic, and ginger into very small cubes.
  5. 5. Wash the chili and halve it lengthwise.
  6. 6. Remove the seeds from the chili.
  7. 7. Dice the chili finely as well.
  8. 8. Place the diced ingredients, sesame oil, soy sauce, lime juice, and paprika powder into a bowl.
  9. 9. Stir the marinade well.
  10. 10. Add the chicken pieces to the bowl and toss them to ensure they are fully coated with the marinade.
  11. 11. Marinate the chicken in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  12. 12. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  13. 13. Use the top and bottom heat setting.
  14. 14. Wash the potatoes thoroughly.
  15. 15. Place the potatoes in a greased, ovenproof dish.
  16. 16. Drizzle the potatoes with a little oil.
  17. 17. Season the potatoes with salt.
  18. 18. Bake the potatoes in the oven for approx. 40 minutes.
  19. 19. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
  20. 20. Take the chicken pieces out of the marinade 25 minutes before the potato cooking time ends.
  21. 21. Place the chicken pieces on the prepared baking tray.
  22. 22. Turn the chicken pieces several times during baking.
  23. 23. Brush the chicken pieces several times with the remaining marinade.
  24. 24. Add the chicken pieces to the potatoes in the oven and finish baking.
  25. 25. Remove the chicken and potatoes from the oven.
  26. 26. Brush the chicken with the marinade once more.
  27. 27. Cut limes into wedges.
  28. 28. Serve the chicken and potatoes on plates or in bowls.
  29. 29. Garnish the dishes with the lime wedges.
  30. 30. Serve the oven chicken with potatoes.
