🍽️ Oven Chicken with Potatoes

Ingredients
- 1 chicken (approx. 1,5 kg)
- 1 shallot
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 piece fresh ginger (approx. 2 cm)
- 1 red chili pepper
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp lime juice
- 1 tsp paprika powder (mild sweet)
- 800 g small potatoes
- 2 tbsp olive oil (for the dish)
- salt
- 2 limes (for garnish)
Instructions
- 1. Wash the chicken thoroughly and pat it dry with a kitchen towel.
- 2. Cut the chicken into 8 equal pieces.
- 3. Peel the shallot and peel the garlic and ginger.
- 4. Dice the shallot, garlic, and ginger into very small cubes.
- 5. Wash the chili and halve it lengthwise.
- 6. Remove the seeds from the chili.
- 7. Dice the chili finely as well.
- 8. Place the diced ingredients, sesame oil, soy sauce, lime juice, and paprika powder into a bowl.
- 9. Stir the marinade well.
- 10. Add the chicken pieces to the bowl and toss them to ensure they are fully coated with the marinade.
- 11. Marinate the chicken in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
- 12. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
- 13. Use the top and bottom heat setting.
- 14. Wash the potatoes thoroughly.
- 15. Place the potatoes in a greased, ovenproof dish.
- 16. Drizzle the potatoes with a little oil.
- 17. Season the potatoes with salt.
- 18. Bake the potatoes in the oven for approx. 40 minutes.
- 19. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
- 20. Take the chicken pieces out of the marinade 25 minutes before the potato cooking time ends.
- 21. Place the chicken pieces on the prepared baking tray.
- 22. Turn the chicken pieces several times during baking.
- 23. Brush the chicken pieces several times with the remaining marinade.
- 24. Add the chicken pieces to the potatoes in the oven and finish baking.
- 25. Remove the chicken and potatoes from the oven.
- 26. Brush the chicken with the marinade once more.
- 27. Cut limes into wedges.
- 28. Serve the chicken and potatoes on plates or in bowls.
- 29. Garnish the dishes with the lime wedges.
- 30. Serve the oven chicken with potatoes.
