Ingredients
- 1 whole chicken
- 1 lemon
- pepper from the mill
- salt
- 1 ginger
- 2 garlic cloves
- 350 g yogurt
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 0.5 tsp chili powder
- 2 tsp paprika powder
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
- 0.5 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp ground nutmeg
Instructions
- 1. Cut the chicken into 6 to 8 pieces.
- 2. Score the surface of the meat pieces with a sharp knife. Make cuts about 0.5 centimeters deep.
- 3. Place the meat pieces in a shallow baking dish.
- 4. Season the meat with salt and pepper.
- 5. Pour lemon juice over the pieces.
- 6. Let the marinade soak in for about 30 minutes.
- 7. Peel the ginger and garlic cloves.
- 8. Grate the ginger finely into a bowl.
- 9. Press the garlic through a garlic press directly into the bowl with the ginger.
- 10. Mix the yogurt with all the spices for the marinade.
- 11. Coat the chicken pieces generously with the yogurt marinade.
- 12. Seal the dish with aluminum foil.
- 13. Marinate the poultry for 8 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.
- 14. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
- 15. Line a baking tray with aluminum foil.
- 16. Place the marinated meat pieces on the tray.
- 17. Bake the chicken for 35 to 40 minutes.
- 18. Brush the meat with the remaining marinade repeatedly during the cooking time.
