🍽️ Crispy Meatballs on Oven-Baked Beans with Tomatoes

Ingredients
- 1 stale rolls
- 800 g string beans
- salt
- butter (for the dish)
- pepper (from the mill)
- 5 tomatoes
- 150 g feta
- 150 g cottage cheese
- 0.5 tsp turmeric
- 1 onion
- 1 clove garlic
- vegetable oil
- 600 g mixed minced meat
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp hot mustard
Instructions
- 1. Soak the breadcrumbs in lukewarm water.
- 2. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 3. Wash the beans and remove the tough ends.
- 4. Boil the beans in salted water for about 8 minutes (blanching).
- 5. Drain the beans and rinse them with cold water.
- 6. Drain the beans well and place them in a greased baking dish.
- 7. Season the beans lightly with salt and pepper.
- 8. Lightly brown the beans in the preheated oven for 5 to 10 minutes.
- 9. Wash the tomatoes and remove the stem area.
- 10. Slice the tomatoes.
- 11. Distribute the tomato slices over the beans.
- 12. Season the tomatoes lightly with salt and pepper as well.
- 13. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.
- 14. Cube the feta cheese.
- 15. Mix the feta with the cottage cheese and turmeric.
- 16. Peel the onion and the garlic.
- 17. Finely chop the onion and the garlic.
- 18. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a hot pan.
- 19. Sauté the onion and garlic until translucent.
- 20. Remove the pan from the heat and let the mixture cool down.
- 21. Squeeze the soaked breadcrumbs well.
- 22. Mix the minced meat with the breadcrumbs, the egg, the mustard, and the onion mixture.
- 23. Season the minced meat mixture with salt and pepper.
- 24. Form small balls from the minced meat mixture.
- 25. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a hot pan.
- 26. Fry the meatballs until golden brown on all sides.
- 27. Distribute the cheese mixture over the vegetables in the baking dish.
- 28. Place the fried meatballs on top of the cheese mixture.
- 29. Gratin the dish for 10 to 15 minutes in the oven at 200 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 30. Remove the dish from the oven.
- 31. Serve the dish immediately.
