🍽️ Crispy Meatballs with Creamy Mustard Sauce

Ingredients
- 1 stale roll
- 1 onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 3 sprigs parsley
- 1 egg
- salt
- pepper (from a mill)
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 250 ml whipping cream (at least 30% fat content)
- 250 g plain yogurt
- 2 tsp medium-hot mustard
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
- 1. Place the bread roll in a bowl with cold water and let it soften.
- 2. Peel the onions and the garlic.
- 3. Cut the onions and garlic into very small cubes.
- 4. Wash the parsley and shake it dry.
- 5. Pluck the parsley leaves from the stems and chop them finely.
- 6. Squeeze the soaked bread roll with your hands to remove the water.
- 7. Add the squeezed bread roll, the egg, the onion cubes, the garlic cubes, and the chopped parsley into a large bowl.
- 8. Season the mixture with salt and pepper.
- 9. Mix all ingredients well together until a homogeneous mass is formed.
- 10. Heat the oil in a large pan.
- 11. Form small balls from the meat mixture.
- 12. Fry the meatballs in the hot pan for 10 to 15 minutes.
- 13. Turn the balls regularly so they become golden brown and crispy on all sides.
- 14. Whisk the cream, mustard, and yogurt smooth in a separate bowl.
- 15. Add the lemon juice to the sauce mixture.
- 16. Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
- 17. Place the finished meatballs into small bowls.
- 18. Pour the mustard cream sauce over the meatballs.
- 19. Serve the balls immediately while warm.
