🍽️ Cheese-Stuffed Meatballs

Ingredients
- 1 bread roll (from the day before)
- 600 g ground beef
- 1 egg
- 1 onion
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 tbsp freshly chopped parsley
- 1 tsp dried marjoram
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- 100 hard cheese (e.g. Emmental)
- breadcrumbs (for coating)
- fat (for frying)
- salad leaves (for serving)
Instructions
- 1. Soak the bread roll in some warm water.
- 2. Squeeze the soaked bread roll well to remove excess water.
- 3. Knead the minced meat with the egg and the squeezed bread roll.
- 4. Peel the onion and chop it finely.
- 5. Sauté the onions in hot oil until translucent.
- 6. Add the onions, parsley, and marjoram to the meat.
- 7. Season the mixture with salt and pepper.
- 8. Knead everything well until it forms a homogeneous mixture.
- 9. Take small portions of the meat mixture.
- 10. Flatten the portions in your palm.
- 11. Fill the flat meat slices with the diced cheese.
- 12. Roll the filled portions into balls.
- 13. Coat the meatballs in breadcrumbs.
- 14. Fry the balls in batches in hot oil at 170°C.
- 15. Fry them for 4 to 5 minutes until golden brown.
- 16. Let the finished balls drain on kitchen paper.
- 17. Serve the meatballs on a bed of salad.
