🍽️ Apple Minced Meat Casserole

Ingredients
- butter (for the dish)
- 1 kg mixed minced meat
- 1 bread roll (from the previous day)
- 4 eggs
- 1 onion
- 1 tbsp freshly chopped marjoram
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- 1 tart apple
- 2 bell peppers (red and green)
- 200 ml whipping cream
- 2 tbsp crème fraîche
- nutmeg
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius fan-forced.
- 2. Grease a baking dish with some butter.
- 3. Place the minced meat into a large bowl.
- 4. Soak the bread roll in a little water.
- 5. Squeeze out the water from the bread and tear it into small pieces.
- 6. Add the bread pieces and one egg to the minced meat.
- 7. Peel the onion and chop it finely.
- 8. Add the onions and marjoram to the minced meat.
- 9. Season the mixture with salt and pepper.
- 10. Press the meat mixture evenly into the baking dish.
- 11. Wash the apple and peel it.
- 12. Cut the apple into quarters and remove the core.
- 13. Dice the apple flesh into small cubes.
- 14. Wash the bell peppers and cut them in half.
- 15. Remove the seeds and the stem from the peppers.
- 16. Dice the peppers into small cubes.
- 17. Whisk the cream and crème fraîche until smooth.
- 18. Add the apple and pepper cubes, as well as the remaining eggs, to the cream mixture.
- 19. Season the cream mixture with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
- 20. Pour the cream mixture evenly over the minced meat.
- 21. Bake the casserole in the oven for about 45 minutes.
