🍽️ Crumbly minced meat with peas on juicy red cabbage and golden fried apple slices

Ingredients
- 400 g mixed minced meat
- 1 onion
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- 2 tbsp butter
- 100 g frozen peas
- 2 apples
- 2 tbsp butter
- 700 g red cabbage (small head)
- 2 tbsp vinegar
- 3 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp orange juice
- 4 tbsp oil
- 0.5 tsp caraway seeds
- pepper (from the mill)
- 1 package spätzle (4 servings)
Instructions
- 1. Heat a large frying pan over medium heat.
- 2. Peel one onion and chop it finely.
- 3. Melt some butter in the pan and sauté the onions until translucent.
- 4. Add the minced meat and fry it until crumbly.
- 5. Season the meat with salt and pepper.
- 6. Add the frozen peas directly from the package.
- 7. Let the mixture simmer gently under a lid for about ten minutes.
- 8. Peel an apple and remove the core.
- 9. Slice the apple into even rounds.
- 10. Fry the apple slices in butter over medium heat until golden brown on both sides.
- 11. Ensure the apples become soft but remain firm enough not to fall apart.
- 12. Quarter a head of red cabbage and remove the hard core.
- 13. Shred the cabbage finely.
- 14. Mix the shredded cabbage with two tablespoons of vinegar.
- 15. Let the mixture sit for about fifteen minutes, stirring it occasionally.
- 16. Whisk together a marinade from lemon juice, orange juice, cumin, pepper, and oil.
- 17. Rinse the red cabbage under lukewarm water and squeeze it well to remove excess liquid.
- 18. Mix the drained red cabbage with the prepared marinade.
- 19. Cook the spätzle according to the instructions on the package.
- 20. Plate the spätzle as a base.
- 21. Spread the minced meat with peas on top.
- 22. Add a portion of red cabbage.
- 23. Place the fried apple slices decoratively on top.
- 24. Serve the dish immediately.
