  1. 1. Crumble the yeast into a large bowl.
  2. 2. Stir the yeast together with milk, honey, eggs, and salt.
  3. 3. Sift the flour over the mixture.
  4. 4. Mix everything through using the dough hook of your stand mixer.
  5. 5. Place small pieces of butter on top of the dough.
  6. 6. Knead the ingredients for another 3 minutes.
  7. 7. Cover the dough.
  8. 8. Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes.
  9. 9. Pour rum over the raisins.
  10. 10. Let the raisins absorb the rum.
  11. 11. Grease the Gugelhupf mold well.
  12. 12. Place 20 whole almonds into the indentations of the mold.
  13. 13. Roughly chop the remaining almonds.
  14. 14. Mix the chopped almonds and rum-soaked raisins into the dough.
  15. 15. Fill the dough into the prepared mold.
  16. 16. Cover the mold.
  17. 17. Let the dough rise again for 30 minutes.
  18. 18. Preheat the oven to 180°C fan-assisted.
  19. 19. Bake the Gugelhupf for about 50 to 60 minutes.
  20. 20. Let the cake stand in the mold for 5 minutes.
  21. 21. Turn the cake out onto a plate.
  22. 22. Let the cake cool down completely.
