🍰 Almond Gugelhupf

Ingredients
- 1 cube yeast
- 200 ml milk
- 80 g honey
- 2 eggs
- 500 g flour
- 125 g butter
- 50 g raisins
- 150 g almonds
- 2 tbsp rum
- 1 pinch salt
- butter (for the pan)
Instructions
- 1. Crumble the yeast into a large bowl.
- 2. Stir the yeast together with milk, honey, eggs, and salt.
- 3. Sift the flour over the mixture.
- 4. Mix everything through using the dough hook of your stand mixer.
- 5. Place small pieces of butter on top of the dough.
- 6. Knead the ingredients for another 3 minutes.
- 7. Cover the dough.
- 8. Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes.
- 9. Pour rum over the raisins.
- 10. Let the raisins absorb the rum.
- 11. Grease the Gugelhupf mold well.
- 12. Place 20 whole almonds into the indentations of the mold.
- 13. Roughly chop the remaining almonds.
- 14. Mix the chopped almonds and rum-soaked raisins into the dough.
- 15. Fill the dough into the prepared mold.
- 16. Cover the mold.
- 17. Let the dough rise again for 30 minutes.
- 18. Preheat the oven to 180°C fan-assisted.
- 19. Bake the Gugelhupf for about 50 to 60 minutes.
- 20. Let the cake stand in the mold for 5 minutes.
- 21. Turn the cake out onto a plate.
- 22. Let the cake cool down completely.
