  2. 2. Wash the leaves thoroughly under running water.
  3. 3. Place the wet kale into a large pot.
  4. 4. Cook the kale over medium heat for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it wilts.
  5. 5. Remove the kale from the pot and let it drain well.
  6. 6. Chop the drained kale into coarse pieces.
  7. 7. Peel the potatoes and wash them.
  8. 8. Cut the potatoes into small cubes.
  9. 9. Peel the onions and the garlic.
  10. 10. Slice the onions into thin rings.
  11. 11. Finely chop the garlic.
  12. 12. Wash the chili pepper.
  13. 13. Remove the stem and the white inner membranes of the chili.
  14. 14. Slice the chili into thin rings.
  15. 15. Crush the allspice berries and peppercorns in a mortar.
  16. 16. Heat the oil in a large pot.
  17. 17. Fry the onion rings and garlic in the hot oil.
  18. 18. Add the potato cubes, chopped kale, chili rings, ground spices, salt, and oat flakes to the pot.
  19. 19. Simmer the mixture for about 5 minutes.
  20. 20. Pour the vegetable broth into the pot.
  21. 21. Let the stew simmer covered for about 60 minutes.
  22. 22. Slice the paprika sausage.
  23. 23. Add the sausage slices to the stew about 20 minutes before the end of the cooking time.
