  2. 2. Shake it dry so that no water droplets remain.
  3. 3. Carefully pluck the leaves from the stems.
  4. 4. Heat a pan without adding oil or butter.
  5. 5. Toast the almonds in the hot pan for a short time.
  6. 6. Remove the almonds from the pan.
  7. 7. Let the toasted almonds cool down completely.
  8. 8. Peel the skin off the garlic clove.
  9. 9. Put the garlic, basil, and cooled almonds into a blender.
  10. 10. Blend the ingredients into a fine paste.
  11. 11. Pour the oil in a thin stream.
  12. 12. Continue mixing until the pesto becomes creamy and thick.
  13. 13. Stir the Parmesan into the mixture.
  14. 14. Season the pesto with salt to taste.
  15. 15. Add fresh pepper.
  16. 16. Add a splash of lemon juice.
  17. 17. Taste the pesto and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
