  1. 1. Wash the vegetables thoroughly and remove any tough stems or inedible parts.
  2. 2. Wash the chicken breast fillets and then pat them completely dry with kitchen paper.
  3. 3. Wash the basil and shake it dry to remove excess water.
  4. 4. Pluck the basil leaves from the stems and slice them into thin strips.
  5. 5. Season the chicken meat evenly on all sides with salt and pepper.
  6. 6. Peel the onion and cut it into very small cubes.
  7. 7. Heat butter and olive oil in a large, coated pan.
  8. 8. Fry the chicken breast fillets over medium heat for about 10 minutes on each side.
  9. 9. After turning the meat pieces, distribute the onion cubes and the prepared vegetables in the pan.
  10. 10. Pour about 100 milliliters of water into the pan.
  11. 11. Let the vegetables cook together with the meat under a lid until done.
  12. 12. Finally, season the dish to taste with salt and pepper.
  13. 13. Sprinkle the finished dish with the sliced basil leaves.
  14. 14. Slice the chicken meat into thin slices before serving.
