  1. 1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into small cubes.
  2. 2. Place the potato cubes in a pot with water.
  3. 3. Add a pinch of salt and a bay leaf to the water.
  4. 4. Cook the potatoes until tender.
  5. 5. Heat the margarine in a frying pan.
  6. 6. Dice the onions.
  7. 7. Lightly brown the onion cubes in the hot margarine.
  8. 8. Add the browned onions to the potato soup.
  9. 9. Mix the flour with a little water to form a smooth paste.
  10. 10. Stir the flour mixture into the soup to thicken it slightly.
  11. 11. Bring the soup back to a boil.
  12. 12. Season the soup generously with smoked salt.
  13. 13. Add a splash of vinegar to the soup.
  14. 14. Ladle the finished soup into bowls.
  15. 15. Place one pre-cooked sausage in each bowl.
