🥗 Grilled Sausage Skewers with Fresh Tomato Salad

Ingredients
- 4 Brat or Bratwursts
- 4 Wooden Skewers
- 4 Tomatoes
- 1 Red Onion
- 8 Stalks Parsley
- 8 Basil
- 0.5 Lemon
- Salt
- Pepper
- 1 Pinch Sugar
- 2 large Slices White Bread
- Olive Oil (for Brushing)
Instructions
- 1. Cut the sausages into pieces about 4 to 5 centimeters long.
- 2. Thread 3 to 4 sausage pieces onto each skewer.
- 3. Preheat your grill.
- 4. Wash the tomatoes and pat them dry with a kitchen towel.
- 5. Cut the tomatoes in half.
- 6. Remove the hard stem area from the tomato flesh.
- 7. Dice the remaining tomato flesh.
- 8. Peel the onion.
- 9. Cut the onion into four large pieces.
- 10. Slice the onion pieces into thin strips.
- 11. Wash the parsley and basil.
- 12. Shake the herbs dry.
- 13. Slice the parsley and basil leaves into thin strips or chop them coarsely.
- 14. Squeeze the lemon to extract the juice.
- 15. Place the diced tomatoes and onion strips into a bowl.
- 16. Season the mixture with salt, pepper, a pinch of sugar, and the lemon juice.
- 17. Fold the prepared parsley and basil into the salad.
- 18. Place the bread slices on the grill.
- 19. Toast the bread.
- 20. Brush the toasted bread slices thinly with olive oil.
- 21. Cut the bread slices diagonally in half.
- 22. Place the bread pieces onto plates.
- 23. Place the sausage skewers on the grill.
- 24. Grill the skewers for about 5 minutes.
- 25. Turn the skewers repeatedly while grilling so they brown on all sides.
- 26. Place the finished sausage skewers on the prepared bread slices.
- 27. Place the tomato salad next to the skewers on the plate.
