  1. 1. Preheat the grill.
  2. 2. Place all ingredients on the work surface.
  3. 3. Cut the meat into cubes of about two centimeters in size.
  4. 4. Thread the meat cubes onto the soaked wooden skewers.
  5. 5. Place the skewers side by side in a shallow dish or on a baking sheet.
  6. 6. Peel the garlic and slice it.
  7. 7. Squeeze the juice of one lemon into it.
  8. 8. Mix the garlic with the lemon juice, oregano, and oil.
  9. 9. Season the marinade with salt and pepper.
  10. 10. Drizzle the marinade over the skewers.
  11. 11. Cover the skewers and place them in the refrigerator for at least two hours.
  12. 12. Let the meat drain.
  13. 13. Grill the souvlaki on the hot grill for about ten minutes.
  14. 14. Brown them on all sides.
  15. 15. Brush the skewers with the remaining marinade in between.
  16. 16. Serve the souvlaki with lemon wedges, tzatziki, and bread.
