🍽️ Baked Halibut Steaks with Chickpeas and Spinach

Ingredients
- 600 g spinach
- salt
- 400 g chickpeas (can)
- 4 cod steaks (220 g each)
- 6 tbsp olive oil
- pepper (from the mill)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp soft butter
- 1 tbsp horseradish (jar)
- 1 garlic clove
- 0.5 tsp turmeric
- 150 ml dry white wine
- chili flakes
Instructions
- 1. Wash the spinach thoroughly and remove any tough stems.
- 2. Blanch the spinach by briefly cooking it in boiling salted water.
- 3. Remove the spinach from the water immediately and let it drain.
- 4. Chop the spinach into coarse pieces.
- 5. Drain the chickpeas well as well.
- 6. Preheat the oven to 220 degrees using the grill function.
- 7. Wash the halibut steaks and pat them dry with a kitchen towel.
- 8. Brush the fish with two tablespoons of oil.
- 9. Season the steaks with salt and pepper.
- 10. Drizzle some lemon juice over the fish.
- 11. Place the steaks on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- 12. Put the tray in the oven and cook the fish for about four minutes until golden brown.
- 13. Mix the breadcrumbs with the butter and horseradish in a bowl.
- 14. Season this mixture with a pinch of salt.
- 15. Take the tray out of the oven briefly and turn the halibut steaks.
- 16. Place one large tablespoon of the butter-breadcrumb mixture on each steak.
- 17. Return the tray to the oven and bake the fish for another three to four minutes.
- 18. Peel the garlic and chop it finely.
- 19. Sauté the garlic briefly in the remaining hot oil.
- 20. Add the turmeric (a yellow spice).
- 21. Deglaze the pan with the white wine.
- 22. Add the chopped spinach and chickpeas to the pan.
- 23. Let the vegetable mixture heat up for two to three minutes.
- 24. Season the side dish with salt.
- 25. Distribute the vegetable mixture onto the plates.
- 26. Place the finished halibut steaks on top of the vegetables.
- 27. Sprinkle the steaks with freshly ground pepper and chili flakes.
- 28. Serve the dish immediately.
