🍽️ Pumpkin Gratin with Cream and Cheese

Ingredients
- 1 kg pumpkin (1 pumpkin)
- 1 garlic clove
- 2 tsp fresh thyme leaves (chopped)
- 500 g whipping cream
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- nutmeg
- 100 g grated Gruyère cheese
- butter (the ramekins)
Instructions
- 1. Cut the pumpkin in half.
- 2. Remove the seeds and fibrous pulp.
- 3. Peel the skin off the pumpkin flesh.
- 4. Cut the pumpkin flesh into thick wedges.
- 5. Slice the wedges into thin slices.
- 6. Peel the garlic clove.
- 7. Press the garlic through a press.
- 8. Mix the cream with thyme, salt, pepper, nutmeg, and the pressed garlic.
- 9. Grease the small baking dishes with some fat.
- 10. Distribute the pumpkin slices evenly into the dishes.
- 11. Pour the cream mixture over the pumpkin.
- 12. Sprinkle cheese over the dishes.
- 13. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
- 14. Place the dishes in the preheated oven.
- 15. Bake the gratin for about 45 minutes.
- 16. Serve the dish hot or cold.
