Ingredients
- 100 g Butter
- 600 g red onions
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- 2 tsp freshly chopped thyme leaves
- 2 tbsp chopped parsley
- 100 g breadcrumbs
Instructions
- 1. Peel the onions and slice them thinly. Place the onion slices in a greased baking dish and season with salt and pepper. Add 4 tablespoons of water. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees on the middle rack for about 15 minutes.
- 2. Mix the remaining butter with the breadcrumbs and chopped herbs. Remove the aluminum foil from the baking dish and distribute the seasoned butter in small pieces over the onions. Bake the onions for about 3 minutes without covering until they are golden brown.
