🍽️ Baked Mussels in Creamy Sauce

Ingredients
- 1 kg Mussels
- Salt
- 2 Garlic cloves
- 5 g Ginger
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 1 tbsp Flour
- 1 tsp Curry powder
- 100 ml dry white wine
- 200 ml Coconut milk
- 1 pinch Chili
- Lime juice
- 1 tbsp Chives
Instructions
- 1. Thoroughly rinse the mussels under running water.
- 2. Fill a pot with 2 to 3 centimeters of salted water and bring it to a boil.
- 3. Place the mussels in the boiling water and cover the pot with a lid.
- 4. Cook the mussels for about 5 minutes until all shells have opened.
- 5. Remove any mussels that are still closed after cooking and discard them.
- 6. Carefully separate the mussel meat from the empty shell half.
- 7. Place the shell halves with the meat inside side by side in an ovenproof dish.
- 8. Switch the oven to the grill function and preheat it.
- 9. Peel the garlic clove and the piece of ginger.
- 10. Mince the garlic and ginger as finely as possible.
- 11. Melt the butter in a pot over medium heat.
- 12. Add the minced garlic and ginger to the butter and sauté until translucent.
- 13. Dust the mixture with flour and stir in the curry powder.
- 14. Let the spice mixture sweat briefly while stirring.
- 15. Pour in the wine and coconut milk while stirring continuously.
- 16. Let the sauce simmer gently for about 5 minutes until it becomes creamy.
- 17. Season the sauce to taste with salt, chili, and lime juice.
- 18. Distribute the sauce evenly over the mussels in the dish.
- 19. Place the dish under the hot grill and bake the mussels for about 5 minutes until gratinated.
- 20. Remove the dish from the oven and immediately sprinkle the mussels with chives.
