🍰 Gratinated Fig and Nut Bake

Ingredients
- 4 figs
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 2 tbsp sliced almonds
- 20 g butter (1 tbsp)
- 0.5 organic lemon
- 1 egg
- 100 g low-fat quark
- 1 tbsp coconut blossom sugar
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- salt
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the figs thoroughly under running water.
- 2. Remove the tough stem attachments from the top of the fruits.
- 3. Cut a cross shape into the top of each fig.
- 4. Gently squeeze the fruits to help them open up.
- 5. Place the prepared figs into a small baking dish.
- 6. Drizzle maple syrup evenly over the figs.
- 7. Sprinkle the sliced almonds evenly over the top.
- 8. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat.
- 9. Wash the lemon and pat it dry.
- 10. Grate the fine yellow zest of the lemon.
- 11. Separate the egg: carefully lift the yolk away from the white.
- 12. Whisk the egg yolk with the quark in a bowl.
- 13. Add the melted butter to the quark mixture.
- 14. Add the lemon zest to the bowl.
- 15. Add half of the coconut blossom sugar.
- 16. Add the cornstarch to the mixture.
- 17. Whisk everything until smooth and creamy.
- 18. Add a pinch of salt to the egg white.
- 19. Beat the egg white with a mixer until stiff.
- 20. Let the remaining coconut blossom sugar trickle in slowly.
- 21. Continue beating until the snow is firm.
- 22. Gently fold the egg white snow into the quark mixture.
- 23. Spoon the finished cream over the figs.
- 24. Place the baking dish onto a baking sheet.
- 25. Preheat the oven with the grill function.
- 26. Place the tray on the lowest rack.
- 27. Gratinate the figs for 4 to 5 minutes until golden brown.
- 28. Dust the bake with powdered sugar if desired.
- 29. Serve the dish warm.
