🍽️ Crispy Bratwurst and Tomato Toasts

Ingredients
- 200 g red bell peppers (1 red bell pepper)
- 2 spring onions
- 200 g sauerkraut
- 500 g raw fine sausage (2 raw fine sausages)
- 200 g curd cheese
- 600 g large tomatoes (6 large tomatoes)
- 10 square slices mixed bread
- 10 tsp medium-hot mustard
Instructions
- 1. Wash the bell pepper thoroughly.
- 2. Cut the bell pepper in half and remove the inside along with the seeds.
- 3. Dice the bell pepper flesh into very small cubes.
- 4. Wash the spring onions and remove the dry ends.
- 5. Slice the spring onions into thin rings.
- 6. Drain the sauerkraut well in a sieve.
- 7. Finely chop the drained sauerkraut.
- 8. Remove the sausage meat from the bratwurst casings and place it in a bowl.
- 9. Add the quark to the sausage meat.
- 10. Stir the mixture until smooth, ensuring the quark and meat are well combined.
- 11. Fold in the diced bell pepper.
- 12. Fold in the spring onion rings.
- 13. Fold in the chopped sauerkraut.
- 14. Wash the tomatoes thoroughly.
- 15. Cut out the hard stem areas of the tomatoes in a wedge shape.
- 16. Slice the tomatoes into even slices.
- 17. Spread the bread slices thinly with mustard.
- 18. Cut the mustard-spread bread slices diagonally in half.
- 19. Top the bread halves with the tomato slices.
- 20. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
- 21. Arrange the topped bread slices on the tray.
- 22. Spread the meat and vegetable mixture evenly over the bread.
- 23. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius conventional heat.
- 24. Place the tray on the top rack in the oven.
- 25. Bake the toasts for about 20 minutes until the surface is browned.
