  2. 2. Finely chop the onion, the garlic, and the ginger.
  3. 3. Heat the oil and the butter in a pot.
  4. 4. Sauté the chopped ingredients together with the saffron threads over low to medium heat for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. 5. Add the basmati rice and sauté it for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  6. 6. Deglaze the mixture with the lime juice and the vegetable broth.
  7. 7. Add the star anise, the coriander, and the cinnamon stick to the pot.
  8. 8. Bring everything to a boil once.
  9. 9. Reduce the heat to the lowest setting, cover the pot, and let the rice steam for 12 to 15 minutes.
  10. 10. Stir the rice occasionally during the cooking time.
  11. 11. Season the rice with salt, pepper, and a little lime juice to taste.
