🍳 Spiced Tea with Fig and Sesam Bread Slices

Ingredients
- 1 Cardamom pod
- 1 Clove
- 1 tsp black tea (e.g. Darjeeling)
- 5 g Honey (1 tsp)
- 80 ml Milk (1.5% fat)
- 50 g fresh Fig (1 fresh Fig)
- 1 pinch Cinnamon
- 3 g Sesame (1 tsp)
- 80 g Braid bread (1 slice)
Instructions
- 1. Put cardamom, one clove, and 200 milliliters of water into a small pot.
- 2. Bring the mixture to a boil while stirring.
- 3. Remove the pot from the heat and stir in the tea leaves, honey, and milk.
- 4. Bring the liquid back to a brief boil.
- 5. Let the tea steep on very low heat for 4 minutes.
- 6. Rinse the fig under running water.
- 7. Pat the fig dry with a kitchen towel.
- 8. Remove the hard stem base from the top of the fig.
- 9. Cut the fig into coarse, irregular pieces.
- 10. Place the fig pieces into a small bowl.
- 11. Sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon over the figs.
- 12. Puree the figs into a smooth paste using a hand blender.
- 13. Alternatively, you can mash the figs very finely with a fork.
- 14. Put the sesame seeds into a small, dry frying pan.
- 15. Toast the sesame seeds until golden brown over medium heat.
- 16. Remove the toasted sesame seeds from the pan.
- 17. Place the sesame seeds onto a small plate.
- 18. Let the sesame seeds cool down completely.
- 19. Pour the finished spiced tea through a fine tea strainer.
- 20. Fill the tea into a glass or a cup.
- 21. Take a slice of brioche (sweet yeast bread).
- 22. Spread the fig paste evenly over the brioche slice.
- 23. Sprinkle the cooled sesame seeds generously over the fig paste.
- 24. Serve the topped bread roll together with the hot spiced tea.
