🍰 Spiced Gugelhupf

Ingredients
- 250 g flour
- 80 g cocoa powder
- 3 eggs
- 1 egg white
- 90 g low-fat yogurt
- 1 tbsp instant coffee
- 1 untreated orange
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- 100 g soft butter
- 250 g sugar
- 1 pinch ground cloves
- 1 level tsp cinnamon
- 1 pinch ground cardamom
- 1 packet baking powder
- 125 g dark chocolate coating
Instructions
- 1. Put yogurt, instant coffee, one tablespoon of lukewarm water, a pinch of salt, and vanilla sugar into a bowl.
- 2. Stir the ingredients in the bowl well together.
- 3. Take a second bowl.
- 4. Beat the soft butter with the sugar and half a tablespoon of grated orange peel until fluffy.
- 5. Stir the egg and egg white into the butter-sugar mixture.
- 6. Mix the flour with the cocoa powder and the baking powder.
- 7. Add the flour mixture to the egg mass.
- 8. Stir the flour mixture into the egg mass.
- 9. Gently fold the yogurt mixture into the batter.
- 10. Gently fold the spices into the batter.
- 11. Pour the batter into a buttered Gugelhupf mold.
- 12. Smooth the surface of the batter.
- 13. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
- 14. Bake the cake in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes.
- 15. Remove the finished cake from the oven.
- 16. Let the cake cool for a short while.
- 17. Turn the cake out onto a cake rack.
- 18. Let the cake cool completely.
- 19. Melt the chocolate coating.
- 20. Cover the cake with the melted chocolate coating.
