🍽️ Homemade Oven-Dried Tomatoes

Ingredients
- 2 kg egg tomato
- 3 garlic cloves
- 4 sprigs thyme
- olive oil (for brushing)
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
Instructions
- 1. Turn on the oven to 110 degrees Celsius with fan setting and let it preheat.
- 2. Lightly grease a baking tray with olive oil.
- 3. Wash the tomatoes thoroughly.
- 4. Remove the hard stem base from the tomatoes.
- 5. Cut open the tomatoes and remove the inner pulp and seeds.
- 6. Place the hollowed-out tomato halves flat on the prepared baking tray.
- 7. Halve the garlic cloves.
- 8. Distribute the garlic halves and thyme sprigs evenly over the tomatoes.
- 9. Season the tomatoes with a pinch of salt.
- 10. Place a cooking spoon diagonally in the oven door to keep a small gap open.
- 11. Put the tray in the oven and let the tomatoes dry for 6 to 8 hours.
- 12. Turn the tomatoes over approximately every 30 minutes during the drying process.
- 13. Remove the tomatoes when they are flexible but no longer moist or tough.
