🍰 Classic Plum Upside-Down Cake

Ingredients
- 75 g soft butter (for greasing)
- 250 g sugar
- 400 g plums
- 250 g butter
- 1 pinch salt
- 5 eggs
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 500 g flour
- 120 ml milk
Instructions
- 1. Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
- 2. Set the heat source to top and bottom heat.
- 3. Get a springform pan ready.
- 4. Spread a thick layer of butter on the bottom of the pan.
- 5. Spread a thin layer of butter on the sides of the pan.
- 6. Sprinkle 50 grams of sugar over the buttered pan.
- 7. Wash the plums under running water.
- 8. Remove the pits from the plums.
- 9. Cut the plums in half.
- 10. Place the plum halves cut-side down into the pan.
- 11. Make sure the halves are placed close together.
- 12. Take the remaining butter for the batter.
- 13. Add a pinch of salt to the butter.
- 14. Beat the butter with the salt until fluffy.
- 15. Add the remaining sugar to the butter mixture.
- 16. Stir in the sugar.
- 17. Add the eggs to the mixture.
- 18. Work the eggs into the mixture.
- 19. Get the flour for the batter.
- 20. Get the baking powder for the batter.
- 21. Mix the flour with the baking powder.
- 22. Get the milk for the batter.
- 23. Add the dry ingredients and the milk to the butter mixture gradually.
- 24. Stir the ingredients in quickly.
- 25. Stop stirring when the batter is smooth.
- 26. The batter should be spreadable.
- 27. Spread the batter evenly over the plums.
- 28. Place the pan in the preheated oven.
- 29. Bake the cake for about 50 minutes.
- 30. Get a wooden skewer ready.
- 31. Insert the wooden skewer into the center of the cake.
- 32. Check if the cake is done.
- 33. Remove the cake from the oven.
- 34. Let the cake cool down in the pan.
- 35. Wait until the cake is completely cooled down.
- 36. Carefully release the cake from the pan.
- 37. Turn the cake out onto a plate.
- 38. Serve the cake.
