🍽️ Tender chicken thighs with caramelized apple slices

Ingredients
- 4 chicken drumsticks
- salt
- white peppercorns
- 2 tbsp sunflower oil
- 200 ml dry white wine
- 2 apples
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 lemon (juice)
- 20 ml Calvados
- chives (for garnish)
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the chicken thighs under running water.
- 2. Pat the meat completely dry with a kitchen towel.
- 3. Season the thighs generously with salt and coarsely ground pepper.
- 4. Heat oil in a casserole pot.
- 5. Fry the chicken thighs on all sides until golden brown.
- 6. Deglaze the meat with wine.
- 7. Cover the pot and let the meat cook on low heat for about 30 minutes.
- 8. Rinse the apples under running water.
- 9. Cut the apples in half lengthwise.
- 10. Remove the core from the apple halves.
- 11. Cut the apple halves into thin wedges.
- 12. Heat butter and honey in a separate pan.
- 13. Let the mixture caramelize slightly.
- 14. Toss the apple wedges in the caramelized butter-honey mixture.
- 15. Deglaze the apples with lemon juice.
- 16. Deglaze the apples with Calvados (apple brandy).
- 17. Pour the apple wedges over the finished chicken thighs.
- 18. Garnish the dish with fresh chives.
- 19. Serve the food warm.
