🍽️ Crispy Tomato Toasts

Ingredients
- 320 g ripe tomatoes (4 ripe tomatoes)
- 2 garlic cloves
- 80 g whole grain baguette (8 slices)
- salt
- coarsely ground pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- 1. Wash the tomatoes thoroughly and pat them dry with a kitchen towel.
- 2. Cut the tomatoes in half through the middle.
- 3. Peel the garlic clove and cut it in half as well.
- 4. Preheat the grill pan or switch on the grill function of your oven.
- 5. Place the bread slices in the hot pan or under the grill without adding any extra fat.
- 6. Toast the bread on both sides until golden brown and crispy.
- 7. Remove the toasted slices from the pan or the oven.
- 8. Place them on a work surface and let them cool down for a short moment.
- 9. Rub the warm cut sides of the bread vigorously with the garlic halves.
- 10. Optional: Slice the remaining garlic clove into paper-thin slices for decoration.
- 11. Place the tomato halves on the bread with the cut side facing down.
- 12. Press the tomatoes firmly with your hand so that the juice and pulp are absorbed by the bread.
- 13. If the tomatoes are very firm, scoop out the pulp with a teaspoon instead and spread it on the bread.
- 14. Finally, season the breads with salt and black pepper to taste.
- 15. Drizzle some olive oil over the breads.
- 16. Garnish the breads with the thin garlic slices as desired and serve immediately.
