🍽️ Hearty Stew with Bacon and Corn

Ingredients
- 1 carrot
- 150 g celery stalks
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 white vegetable onion
- 200 g waxy potatoes
- 2 tbsp butter
- 100 g bacon cubes
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 splash white wine
- 800 ml meat broth
- 100 g corn (can)
- 100 ml whipping cream (30%)
- salt
- 1 drop lemon juice
- pepper (from the mill)
- 2 tbsp freshly chopped parsley
Instructions
- 1. Peel the carrot and cut it into small batons.
- 2. Wash the celery, remove tough fibers, and slice it.
- 3. Peel the garlic clove and chop it finely.
- 4. Peel the onion and dice it coarsely.
- 5. Peel the potatoes and cut them into cubes.
- 6. Heat the butter in a pot.
- 7. Add the onions, garlic, carrots, celery, and potatoes to the pot.
- 8. Sauté the vegetables briefly until fragrant.
- 9. Stir in the flour to thicken.
- 10. Deglaze the mixture with a splash of white wine.
- 11. Add the broth.
- 12. Let the stew simmer gently for about 20 minutes.
- 13. Stir the vegetables occasionally.
- 14. Stir in the corn, bacon, and cream.
- 15. Let the mixture steep for about 5 minutes.
- 16. Season to taste with salt, lemon juice, and pepper.
- 17. Sprinkle the stew with parsley.
- 18. Serve the dish.
- 19. Serve with bread or savory muffins.
