  3. 3. Lightly salt the water.
  4. 4. Place the pot on a medium heat setting.
  5. 5. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  6. 6. Stir the rice once.
  7. 7. Reduce the heat to the lowest setting.
  8. 8. Let the rice simmer uncovered for about 15 minutes.
  9. 9. Wait until almost all the liquid has been absorbed.
  10. 10. Place a clean kitchen towel over the pot rim.
  11. 11. Place the matching lid on top of the towel.
  12. 12. Keep the heat on the lowest possible setting.
  13. 13. Cook the rice for another 10 to 12 minutes.
  14. 14. Remove the pot from the stove.
  15. 15. Let the rice rest covered for about 7 minutes.
  16. 16. Fluff the rice with a fork.
  17. 17. Serve the rice warm.
