  1. 1. Pour the white wine and about 200 milliliters of water into a pot.
  2. 2. Add the sugar, your chosen spices, the lemon zest, and the lemon juice.
  3. 3. Bring the liquid to a boil.
  4. 4. Peel the pears completely.
  5. 5. Remove the core from the bottom using a melon baller.
  6. 6. Place the prepared pears into the hot syrup.
  7. 7. Make sure the pears are completely covered by the liquid.
  8. 8. Let the pears come to a boil again in the syrup.
  9. 9. Remove the pot from the heat.
  10. 10. Check the firmness of the pears.
  11. 11. If the pears are still too firm, let them simmer briefly on low heat.
  12. 12. Cover the pot.
  13. 13. Let the pears cool down completely inside.
  14. 14. Carefully remove the pears from the syrup.
  15. 15. Place them on the serving plates.
  16. 16. Drizzle the pears with some of the remaining syrup.
  17. 17. Garnish the dish with the lemon zest.
  18. 18. Serve the pears immediately.
