  2. 2. Peel the onion and slice it into thin rings.
  3. 3. Wash the lettuce hearts.
  4. 4. Remove the outer leaves.
  5. 5. Cut each lettuce head into four quarters lengthwise.
  6. 6. Brush the cut surfaces with a little oil.
  7. 7. Season the lettuce pieces with salt and pepper.
  8. 8. Place the lettuce on the grill.
  9. 9. Grill the lettuce halves for 4 to 5 minutes.
  10. 10. Heat the remaining oil in a pan.
  11. 11. Add the onion rings to the pan.
  12. 12. Sauté the onions over medium heat for about 5 minutes until soft.
  13. 13. Stir in the vinegar, lemon juice, and honey.
  14. 14. Place two grilled lettuce halves on each plate.
  15. 15. Crumble the cheese over the salad.
  16. 16. Drizzle the salad with the onion sauce.
  17. 17. Grind fresh pepper over the top.
  18. 18. Serve the salad immediately.
