🍽️ Grilled Stuffed Squid Tubes

Ingredients
- 2 slices whole wheat toast
- 2 onions
- 1 clove garlic
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1 bunch flat-leaf parsley
- 1 egg
- salt
- pepper
- 500 g small kitchen-ready squid tubes (fresh or from the freezer; thawed)
Instructions
- 1. Remove the crusts from the toast slices.
- 2. Cut the toast bread into small cubes.
- 3. Place the bread cubes into a bowl.
- 4. Peel the onions.
- 5. Peel the garlic clove.
- 6. Finely dice the onions.
- 7. Finely dice the garlic clove.
- 8. Heat two tablespoons of oil in a small pan.
- 9. Sauté the onions and garlic in the hot oil until translucent.
- 10. Add the sautéed onions and garlic to the bread cubes.
- 11. Wash the parsley.
- 12. Shake the parsley dry.
- 13. Pluck the parsley leaves from the stems.
- 14. Roughly chop the parsley leaves.
- 15. Add the chopped parsley to the bowl.
- 16. Add the egg to the bowl.
- 17. Season the mixture with salt.
- 18. Season the mixture with pepper.
- 19. Whisk everything with a whisk attachment of a hand mixer until smooth.
- 20. Rinse the squid tubes thoroughly inside and out.
- 21. Pat the squid tubes dry.
- 22. Fill the squid tubes with the bread-herb mixture.
- 23. Use a piping bag without a tip or a teaspoon to fill them.
- 24. Close the openings of the squid tubes with one toothpick each.
- 25. Season the filled squid tubes with salt.
- 26. Season the filled squid tubes with pepper.
- 27. Grease an aluminum foil tray with the remaining oil.
- 28. Place the filled squid tubes on the aluminum foil tray.
- 29. Grill the squid tubes on the hot grill.
- 30. Grill them for 12 to 15 minutes.
- 31. Turn the squid tubes occasionally while grilling.
