  1. 1. Soak the wooden skewers (4 small or 8 large) in water for about 30 minutes to prevent them from burning.
  2. 2. Wash the chicken breast fillets and pat them dry with a kitchen towel.
  3. 3. Cut the chicken meat into small, bite-sized cubes.
  4. 4. Mix the soy sauce with the oil, turmeric, thyme, and pepper in a bowl.
  5. 5. Add the chicken cubes to the marinade and place them in the refrigerator for about 2 hours.
  6. 6. Peel the bananas and slice them into rounds about 1 cm thick.
  7. 7. Peel the onions and cut them into large chunks.
  8. 8. Thread the marinated meat cubes, banana slices, and onion chunks alternately onto the skewers.
  9. 9. Grill the skewers on the hot grill, turning them occasionally, until they are done after 8 to 10 minutes.
  10. 10. Season the skewers with salt at the end and serve immediately.
