  1. 1. Wash the zucchini thoroughly.
  2. 2. Cut off the hard ends on both sides.
  3. 3. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil.
  4. 4. Boil the whole zucchini for about 3 minutes.
  5. 5. Remove the zucchini from the water with a slotted spoon.
  6. 6. Rinse them immediately under cold water to stop the cooking process.
  7. 7. Let the zucchini drain well.
  8. 8. Slice the zucchini lengthwise into thin, long strips.
  9. 9. Slice the mozzarella into thin slices.
  10. 10. Season the zucchini strips with salt and pepper.
  11. 11. Place a slice of ham on each strip.
  12. 12. Add a slice of mozzarella.
  13. 13. Place a basil leaf on top.
  14. 14. Roll the zucchini up tightly.
  15. 15. Grease a baking dish with a little oil.
  16. 16. Place the rolls side by side in the dish.
  17. 17. Drizzle a little olive oil over the rolls.
  18. 18. Wash the tomatoes thoroughly.
  19. 19. Place the tomatoes in the gaps between the zucchini rolls.
  20. 20. Preheat the oven to 170 degrees.
  21. 21. Place the baking dish in the oven.
  22. 22. Bake the rolls for about 20 minutes.
  23. 23. Carefully remove the dish from the oven.
  24. 24. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella over the rolls.
  25. 25. Place the dish back in the oven.
  26. 26. Continue baking until the cheese is completely melted.
