  1. 1. Rinse the figs carefully under running water.
  2. 2. Pat the fruits dry with a clean kitchen towel.
  3. 3. Carefully cut off the top lid of each fig.
  4. 4. Carefully scoop out the inside of the figs using a teaspoon.
  5. 5. Make sure not to damage the fig skins in the process.
  6. 6. Mash the removed fig flesh finely with a fork.
  7. 7. Stir the ground nuts into the mashed fruit flesh.
  8. 8. Gently fold the quark into the nut-fruit mixture.
  9. 9. Squeeze the juice from the lemon half into the filling.
  10. 10. Add about one teaspoon of lemon juice.
  11. 11. Season the mixture with a pinch of pepper.
  12. 12. Fill the quark mixture back into the hollowed-out figs.
  13. 13. Place the cut-off lids diagonally on top of the filled fruits.
  14. 14. Sprinkle the finished figs with freshly ground pepper before serving.
