  1. 1. Rinse both types of rice thoroughly under running water.
  2. 2. Place the rice in a pot and cover it with about 600 milliliters of water.
  3. 3. Salt the water and cook the rice for approx. 20 minutes until tender.
  4. 4. Add a little more water if it evaporates too quickly, or drain it once the rice is done.
  5. 5. Peel the banana and cut it into small pieces.
  6. 6. Save a few banana pieces for decoration and stir the rest into the warm rice.
  7. 7. Cut the banana leaves into rectangles of approx. 12 x 15 centimeters.
  8. 8. Place a portion of the rice filling onto each leaf.
  9. 9. Fold the leaves into small packets and make about 8 to 12 packets.
  10. 10. Tie the packets securely with twine or kitchen string.
  11. 11. Steam the packets for 10 to 15 minutes in a steamer.
  12. 12. Serve the rice packets with a coconut sauce to your liking.
