🍽️ Crispy Chicken-Bulgur Balls

Ingredients
- 160 g fine bulgur
- 300 ml classic vegetable broth
- 100 g onions (2 onions)
- 2 tbsp rapeseed oil
- 15 g mild ajvar (2 tsp)
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- salt
- pepper
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp paprika powder (sweet)
- 300 g poultry mince
Instructions
- 1. Put the bulgur into a large bowl.
- 2. Bring the broth to a boil.
- 3. Pour the boiling broth over the bulgur.
- 4. Cover the bowl.
- 5. Let the bulgur swell for 30 minutes.
- 6. Peel the onions.
- 7. Finely chop the onions.
- 8. Heat the oil in a pan.
- 9. Sauté the onions until translucent.
- 10. Add the onions to the cooled bulgur.
- 11. Season the mixture with ajwar.
- 12. Add cumin.
- 13. Salt and pepper to taste.
- 14. Mix all ingredients thoroughly.
- 15. Let the mixture cool down briefly.
- 16. Whisk the eggs in a second bowl.
- 17. Stir the paprika powder into the eggs.
- 18. Add the poultry mince to the bulgur mixture.
- 19. Add the whisked eggs.
- 20. Process everything with the dough hooks of the hand mixer.
- 21. Knead the mixture thoroughly.
- 22. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
- 23. Moisten your hands with water.
- 24. Form small balls from the mixture.
- 25. Place the balls on the baking tray.
- 26. Preheat the oven to 180 °C (fan 160 °C, gas mark 2-3).
- 27. Bake the balls on the middle rack for about 10 minutes.
- 28. Turn on the grill.
- 29. Grill the balls for another 5 to 7 minutes.
