🍰 Whole Grain Apple Pie without Egg

Ingredients
- 310 g spelt flour Type 1050
- 1 pinch salt
- 100 g whole cane sugar
- freshly grated nutmeg
- 150 g cold butter
- 1 tbsp milk
- 800 g tart apples
- 2 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
- 1. Put 300 grams of flour into a bowl.
- 2. Add a pinch of salt.
- 3. Add 80 grams of raw cane sugar.
- 4. Stir in a little ground nutmeg.
- 5. Cut the butter into small cubes.
- 6. Knead the butter cubes into the flour mixture until it resembles fine crumbs.
- 7. Add milk gradually.
- 8. Continue kneading the dough until it is smooth and no longer sticky.
- 9. Lightly dust your work surface with flour.
- 10. Divide the dough into two equal halves.
- 11. Roll out both halves thinly.
- 12. Lightly grease a pie dish with a diameter of 26 centimeters.
- 13. Place the first half of the dough into the dish.
- 14. Wash the apples thoroughly.
- 15. Peel the apples.
- 16. Cut the apples in half.
- 17. Remove the core.
- 18. Cut the apple halves into eighths.
- 19. Mix the apple pieces with the remaining sugar.
- 20. Add cinnamon and mix everything well.
- 21. Spread the apple mixture evenly over the dough base.
- 22. Place the second half of the dough over the apples as a lid.
- 23. Press the edges of the top and bottom dough together firmly.
- 24. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
- 25. Bake the cake for about 40 minutes.
- 26. Take the cake out of the oven.
- 27. Let the cake cool down until it is lukewarm.
- 28. Serve the apple pie.
