  1. 1. Pour the flour onto a clean work surface.
  2. 2. Press a small indentation into the center of the flour with your hand.
  3. 3. Place the butter in small pieces on the ring of flour around the indentation.
  4. 4. Sprinkle the salt over the butter.
  5. 5. Distribute the 80 g of coconut blossom sugar evenly over the flour.
  6. 6. Crack the egg into the center of the indentation.
  7. 7. Chop the ingredients roughly into crumbs using a dough scraper.
  8. 8. Quickly knead the crumbs together with your hands to form a soft dough.
  9. 9. If the dough seems too dry, add a little more flour.
  10. 10. Wrap the dough in cling film.
  11. 11. Place the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  12. 12. Take about one third of the dough off.
  13. 13. Roll out the larger piece of dough to the size of your baking pan.
  14. 14. Roll out the smaller piece of dough slightly larger than the pan.
  15. 15. Grease the baking pan with a little butter if necessary.
  16. 16. Line the pan with the larger dough piece.
  17. 17. Wash the apples under running water.
  18. 18. Peel the apples.
  19. 19. Cut the apples into quarters.
  20. 20. Remove the core from the apple quarters.
  21. 21. Slice the apples thinly.
  22. 22. Squeeze the lemon.
  23. 23. Mix the apple slices with the lemon juice.
  24. 24. Add the remaining coconut blossom sugar to the apple mixture.
  25. 25. Add cinnamon to the mixture.
  26. 26. Add cardamom to the mixture.
  27. 27. Add the almonds to the mixture.
  28. 28. Spread the apple mixture over the dough in the pan.
  29. 29. Place the second dough circle on top of the filling as a lid.
  30. 30. Press the top and bottom edges firmly together.
  31. 31. Press a pattern into the edges with a fork.
  32. 32. Preheat the oven to 200 °C (convection: 180 °C; gas: setting 3).
  33. 33. Bake the cake for about 50 minutes.
  34. 34. Check if the cake is golden brown.
  35. 35. Cover the cake with aluminum foil if it gets too dark.
  36. 36. Remove the cake from the oven.
  37. 37. Let the cake cool in the pan.
  38. 38. Serve the cake with whipped cream.
  39. 39. Dust the cake with powdered sugar if desired.
