  1. 1. Rinse the fresh herbs under running water.
  2. 2. Tear the herbs into small pieces.
  3. 3. Set aside a small portion of the herbs for later garnish.
  4. 4. Place the majority of the herbs into the steamer insert.
  5. 5. Wash the lemons thoroughly.
  6. 6. Slice the lemons into thin rounds.
  7. 7. Remove a few lemon slices to use as garnish later.
  8. 8. Add the remaining lemon slices to the steamer insert with the herbs.
  9. 9. Rinse the fish fillets and pat them dry.
  10. 10. Place the fish fillets on top of the herbs and lemons in the steamer insert.
  11. 11. Pour about 1 to 1.5 centimeters of water into the pot below.
  12. 12. Lightly salt the water in the pot.
  13. 13. Place the steamer insert with the fish into the pot.
  14. 14. Bring the water at the bottom to a boil.
  15. 15. Cover the pot.
  16. 16. Steam the fish for about 15 to 20 minutes.
  17. 17. Carefully remove the steamer insert.
  18. 18. Sprinkle the finished fish with the reserved fresh herbs.
  19. 19. Garnish the dish with the reserved lemon slices.
  20. 20. Serve the steamed fish immediately while warm.
