  3. 3. Peel the vegetables if they have a thick skin.
  4. 4. Cut the vegetables into sticks about 8 cm long.
  5. 5. Rinse the beef slices.
  6. 6. Pat the meat dry with a kitchen towel.
  7. 7. Lay the meat slices flat.
  8. 8. Brush the meat thinly with soy sauce.
  9. 9. Season the meat with black pepper.
  10. 10. Take small amounts of the vegetables.
  11. 11. Form them into small bundles.
  12. 12. Place the vegetable bundles across the meat.
  13. 13. Roll the meat tightly with the vegetables.
  14. 14. Tie the roll securely with kitchen twine.
  15. 15. Place the finished rolls into a steamer insert.
  16. 16. Close the steamer insert.
  17. 17. Heat some water in a large pot.
  18. 18. Hang the steamer insert over the hot water.
  19. 19. Steam the rolls over medium heat.
  20. 20. Let them cook for about 1 hour.
  21. 21. Carefully remove the steamer insert.
  22. 22. Cut the kitchen twine and remove it.
  23. 23. Serve the warm rolls immediately.
