  1. 1. Rinse the cod fillets under running water.
  2. 2. Pat the fillets completely dry with a kitchen towel.
  3. 3. Season the fillets on both sides with salt and pepper.
  4. 4. Coat the fillets briefly in flour until they are lightly covered.
  5. 5. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large frying pan.
  6. 6. Fry the cod fillets slowly until golden brown on each side.
  7. 7. Let the fillets fry for about 3 to 4 minutes per side.
  8. 8. Remove the cooked fillets from the pan and keep them warm.
  9. 9. Wash the fresh spinach thoroughly under cold water.
  10. 10. Remove any thick stems and tough parts from the spinach.
  11. 11. Let the washed spinach drain well.
  12. 12. Crush the garlic cloves using the flat side of a knife.
  13. 13. Heat the remaining oil in the same pan.
  14. 14. Sauté the crushed garlic briefly in the hot oil.
  15. 15. Add the drained spinach to the pan.
  16. 16. Let the spinach wilt until it is soft.
  17. 17. Season the spinach finally with salt and a pinch of nutmeg.
  18. 18. Serve the seasoned spinach together with the fried cod.
