🍽️ Warm Marzipan Nut Apples

Ingredients
- 4 ripe apples (e.g. Boskop)
- 40 g walnut kernels
- 50 g ground hazelnuts
- 2 tbsp rum raisins
- 30 g marzipan raw mass
- 20 ml orange liqueur
- 1 egg white
- 1 tbsp vanilla sugar
- ground cinnamon (for dusting)
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius fan-forced.
- 2. Wash the apples thoroughly.
- 3. Cut off the top part of each apple to use as a lid.
- 4. Remove the core using a corer.
- 5. Hollow out the flesh slightly, but leave a small border intact.
- 6. Finely chop the walnut kernels.
- 7. Add the walnuts, hazelnuts, and raisins to a bowl.
- 8. Mash the marzipan with the liqueur in a small bowl using a fork.
- 9. Add the marzipan mixture to the nuts and raisins.
- 10. Whip the egg whites with the vanilla sugar until stiff.
- 11. Gently fold the stiff egg whites into the nut mixture.
- 12. Fill the mixture into the hollowed-out apple halves.
- 13. Place the apple lids back on top.
- 14. Place the apples in a buttered baking dish.
- 15. Bake the apples in the oven for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
- 16. Dust the finished apples with cinnamon before serving.
